West Brom fans were singing the praises of many of their players following the club’s 7-1 battering of Steve McClaren’s Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Darren Moore’s boys put in an utterly irresistible attacking performance as they found the back of the net six times during the second half at the Hawthorns.
Matt Phillips opened the scoring against his old club and added the sixth in the dying minutes of the match. Beyond the goals though, the 27-year-old put in a complete display featuring relentless running, endless energy and real defensive graft.
Phillips had to contend with some booing from QPR fans, who he represented until joining the Baggies in 2016, however he silenced them in fine style with his clinical finishing.
After the resounding result against the London club, many West Brom fans took to Twitter to heap praise upon the Scottish international who was integral to their side’s stunning demolition of QPR…
Oh Matty Phillips, oh he is so wonderful!
When he scores a goal, it’s beautiful! Magical!
When he runs down the wing he’s as fast as lightning! It’s Frightening!
And he makes all the Baggies sing!
Dur dur dur dur dur dur dur dur! #wba #mattyphillipssong

Tell you what.
Not sure iv ever seen a more ‘confidence’ player than Matt Phillips play for us.
Utter dreadful when it’s not going his way, unplayable when it is.
Been brilliant so far this season

Finally settled down after seven (that’s SEVEN) goals today. Matt Phillips had an absolutely worldie playing RWB. Up and down, endless running. Looks quicker, smarter, sharper and stronger. #wba
