Barcelona Will meet up with Uruguay

Luis Suarez has been named in Uruguay‘s 22-man squad for their games against Hungary and Argentina over this upcoming international break, having just received the medical green light after resting with a soleus injury.

The Barcelona coaching staff are worried about the striker’s potential participation in Uruguay‘s games, given that they are aware of his increasingly common injury problems in the last couple of years.

Logic suggests that Suarez would have been called up regardless in the event that he was fit and healthy, but in the last international break the 32-year-old stayed in Barcelona over last set of international fixtures.

This time, though, Suarez decided that he wanted to go and had even asked the Barcelona coaches if he could return to training earlier, however the club’s medical team prevented him from doing so.

The former Liverpool star picked up an injury at San Mames on the opening day of the season which led to him missing a month of action.

His return coincided with that of Lionel Messi and, as would be expected, Barcelona‘s goalscoring form soon return as they hit the back of the net 10 times in the space of five games.

However, an injury to his soleus away at Levante provided another setback for Suarez.

On Saturday, though, Suarez returned to the pitch as he played the final 20 minutes in Barcelona‘s 4-1 win over Celta Vigo.

What is worrying some of the Blaugrana‘s coaches is Suarez rushing himself back before he is 100 percent, so they will be watching him intently during Uruguay‘s two friendlies.

Next Friday, La Celeste will take on Hungary in Budapest before playing against Argentina in Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
