Barcelona have reached an agreement to renew Ansu Fati‘s contract and include a 170 million euro buyout clause.

The two parties decided to retain the contract’s duration until 2022, with an option of two more years, but the 17-year-old will see his salary significantly improved.

Ansu Fati‘s previous release clause was set at 100m euros, following a deal he signed with the Blaugrana back in June.

As Barcelona have confirmed through an official statement, “the clause will rise to 400 million [euros] when the player signs his professional contract with the first team.”

Since breaking into the Barcelona first team Ansu has made 11 appearances, playing 408 minutes, and scoring to goals – against Osasuna and Valencia.

Thanks to his naturalisation by Spain he can eventually play for La Roja, and has already debuted for the Under-21 side.
