Loads of Rangers fans have been giving their verdict on the move for Kyle Lafferty, and almost half of fans think they should have signed Chris Martin instead.

Rangers confirmed yet another signing this week, bringing Northern Ireland international Lafferty back to Ibrox.

The towering striker left the club back in 2012 over a contract dispute, after scoring over 30 Premiership goals for the club.

Steven Gerrard clearly wanted a different type of striker to take some pressure off the red hot Alfredo Morelos, but should he have gone for Derby County’s Martin instead?

The giant Scottish international is out of favour at Pride Park, but is surprisingly still younger than Lafferty, and boasts a better goal record in England than the Northern Irishman.

Lafferty of course has the fans in his corner already because of all the goals he’s scored against Celtic, but Martin was definitely an option worth considering.

The Derby ace has scored over 100 league goals in his career, including a three season run between 2013 and 2016 where he bagged 20, 18 and 14 Championship goals respectively.

Fans are nearly perfectly split on the matter, with 49 per cent picking Martin as the better choice, and you can find the full poll results down below…
