Barcelona director Ariedo Braida insists ‘there are no negotiations’ for Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic and that he ‘doesn’t fit’ into the club’s market strategy.

Speculation had intensified that Barca were looking to sign Pjanic after Andres Iniesta’s departure, but Braida confirmed the Catalans would bring the arrival of Gremio midfielder Arthur forward instead.

“There are no negotiations and I don’t think we’re interested in him,” the former Milan general manager told JuveNews.eu.

“He’s a good player, but now we have a Brazilian who will take on that role [of ‘regista’] because Barcelona are banking on him.

“There are those who take care of the market for Barcelona, but certainly I know the club’s strategy and Pjanic doesn’t fit into it.”
