Emre Can has returned in midfield for Liverpool as manger Jurgen Klopp makes one change from the side that beat Porto 5-0 in the Champions League.

The Reds go up against West Ham United on Saturday, their first game since the win in Portugal 10 days ago for which Can was suspended.

The German starts in a midfield three alongside James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Jordan Henderson dropping to the bench.

Despite keeping two consecutive clean sheets alongside Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren has been dropped to the bench for the visit of West Ham with Joel Matip taking his place.

Former Manchester United player Patrice Evra will no-doubt be greeted with a round of boos at Anfield on Saturday as the defender makes his West Ham debut.

The Frenchman joined the Hammers at the start of February having been a free agent following his release from Marseille.

West Ham manager Moyes is also fortunate to be able to include reported Liverpool target Manuel Lanzini, who has recovered from a hamstring injury.

The Argentine starts for the Hammers slightly behind Marko Arnautovic who leads the line, with Javier Hernandez on the bench.

A win for Liverpool would see the Reds momentarily move up to second in the league, with Manchester United facing Chelsea on Sunday.

West Ham know only a win against Liverpool will do as they try to fight against relegation – the Hammers are just four points above the bottom three despite sitting 12th in the table.

Hammers fans not happy with Moyes

Despite a debut for Evra and Lanzini’s return, the news of Hernandez’s dropping did not go down well with some Hammers fans – with the Mexican showing good form in recent games.
