30′ Sterling catches Willian on halfway and the hosts are handed a free-kick, though they are unable to make a serious attack out of it.

28′ Rudiger clears the set-piece with a deft header and Chelsea press City back into their own half.

27′ Sane wins a corner off Azpilicueta after the two have a tussle just inside the box.

25′ Alonso pops up against the run of play in the City box and Walker is forced into evasive action to clear the ball away from any chance of danger.

23′ David Silva turns a lovely free-kick in from 25 yards out on the right wing that is a smidge too high for anyone to get a head to, sailing out for a goal-kick.

21′ Bernardo Silva earns a free-kick as he falls into a foul from David Luiz just inside the City half, allowing the visitors to launch another offensive against their hosts.

20′ In the opening 20 minutes of this match, City have completed 70 passes in the attacking half, compared to Chelsea’s total of nine.

17′ This is a relatively dominant performance from the visitors, who’ve created some excellent chances so far. Chelsea are still getting the ball, but they’re mostly pegged back with it inside their own half, closer to their box than the centre circle on average.

15′ Great defence from David Luiz! City slit open Chelsea at the back and Sane gets into open space, six yards out. Yet he hesitates to shoot and the centre-back manages to wrestle the ball away from him, earning a free-kick in the process.

13′ Pedro slots a dream of a ball through to Hazard, only for the Belgian star to let it roll over his foot and into the City defence. The build-up was slicker than Chelsea have otherwise offered so far though.

11′ Fernandinho pokes a pass out wide to the left seeking Sane and the German fluffs his attempted collection. Throw-in to the hosts.

10′ Chelsea concede a corner now as Walker tries to turn a low cross in off the right wing and sees it take a deflection. The visitors play it short before Bernardo Silva whips it in. Kepa gets there first and manages to seize possession to curtail the danger.

9′ Sterling! A golden chance for City goes begging as, following a break from Fernandinho, the England international can’t tuck a square pass from the penalty spot past Kepa.

7′ Hazard draws a lunging tackle from Delph with some neat footwork out on the right wing and wins the free-kick, some 25 yards shy of goal. The set-piece finds only Stones however who clears for the visitors.

5′ Ederson tries to find Delph after the ball rolls into his box, only to send his kick downfield careening out for a throw to Chelsea.

3′ It’s a relatively cagey opening between the two sides with the visitors showing more intuition than their hosts. City win a throw-in deep in Chelsea territory, only to be forced back by a defensive press.

1′ We are underway in this 2018-19 Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester City!

The teams are out at Stamford Bridge and we’re moments away from kick-off.

Maurizio Sarri hasn’t lost two successive league games as a manager since October 2016, when Napoli lost in Italy’s Serie A against Atalanta & Roma.

Manchester City haven’t won consecutive top-flight visits against Chelsea since January 1955.

Subs: Arijanet Muric, Phil Foden, Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi, Gabriel Jesus, Danilo, Ilkay Gundogan.

MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Fabian Delph; Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, David Silva; Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane.

Subs: Willy Caballero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley, Emerson, Andreas Christensen, Olivier Giroud.

CHELSEA (4-3-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic; Pedro, Eden Hazard, Willian.

Team news now and Chelsea make four changes to the side downed midweek, with Jorginho and David Luiz recalled from the bench alongside Mateo Kovacic and Pedro. City make two swaps, with Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling in for Vincent Kompany and Gabriel Jesus. Neither team is playing an outright centre-forward.

Maurizio Sarri’s side however will be looking to find their best form once more after two losses in their last three games derailed an otherwise sterling start to life under the former Napoli boss. Defeats to Tottenham and, surprisingly, Wolves have left them 10 points adrift of City; can they cut the gap with victory?

Pep Guardiola’s side were displaced at the peak of the pile earlier today when Liverpool routed Bournemouth 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium, but the Citizens can go straight back to first place with a win or even a draw against the Blues in London.

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2018-19 Premier League as Manchester City look to regain their grasp on the top of the table with a trip to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
