Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has a verbal agreement with Real Madrid to join the club, according to RMC.
The Belgian has made joining the European champions his priority and is expected to force through a move.
Hazard’s verbal agreement
Eden Hazard has made it his priority to join Real Madrid having already reached a verbal agreement with Los Blancos.
There is currently no agreement between Chelsea and Real Madrid regarding a deal, although Hazard is expected to force through a transfer.
Hazard is amongst the list of names Madrid have identified to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Juventus earlier this month.
Following Belgium’s third-place play-off triumph over England on Saturday, the 26-year-old admitted that he could go in search of a new challenge this summer.
His comments added further fuel to the fire regarding a move to Madrid which is understood to be his dream destination.
Hazard told HLN:
“After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. Certainly after this World Cup.
“I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision – if they want to let me go.
“You know my preferred destination.”
Thibaut Courtois expected to join Real Madrid
RMC also report that Chelsea and Real Madrid have reached an agreement worth €35m for the transfer of Thibaut Courtois in the coming days.
The Belgian is entering the final year of his contract and the Blues are unwilling to run the risk of losing him for free next summer.
With Courtois show no willingness to sign a new contract, the goalkeeper would be able to agree to join Real Madrid in January on a free transfer – a situation Chelsea are desperate to avoid.
Courtois’ priority is on returning to the Spanish capital, where his family are based, and is refusing to a sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
