As per a report from Sky Sports News this afternoon, Leeds United are in ‘advanced talks’ with Chelsea over the loan signing of Izzy Brown.
West Brom product
Versatile 21-year-old attacker Brown can play either as an attacking midfielder, winger or a forward.
The youngster came up through the youth ranks of West Brom, before breaking into the club’s first-team setup as a prodigious teen in 2013.
In fact, he became the second-youngest player to ever appear in the Premier League that season, at just 16 years and 117 days old.
As such, Brown unsurprisingly quickly caught the eye of a number of the English top-flight’s heavyweights.
In the end, it was Chelsea who beat off all competition, signing the attacker in the summer of 2013.
However, to this point, Brown has unsurprisingly found game-time hard to come by at Stamford Bridge.
As such, he has spent the last 3 seasons out on loan away from Chelsea, lining up for all of Vitesse, Rotherham, Huddersfield and Brighton.
The latter of these spells was cut short in agonizing fashion, though, when Brown suffered a cruciate ligament injury in January.
But, as per the aforementioned report from Sky Sports News, Brown is set to be handed his latest chance to rack up some much-needed game-time imminently.
The gifted attacker is on the verge of a loan move to Marcelo Bielsa’s high-flying Leeds United:
