Manchester United star David de Gea has praised his teammates Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial ahead of the clash against PSG.
The two Frenchmen were instrumental in their side’s 3-0 win over Fulham during the weekend as they warmed up to the Champions League tie on Tuesday.
United will need their top players at their best if they’re to beat the French champions who are widely considered to be the favourites.
De Gea is arguably the club’s most important player but he decided to focus on Pogba and Martial instead.
The midfielder’s brace and the former AS Monaco man’s solo goal made it all comfortable against Fulham before they were hauled off to be rested for the PSG clash.
According to Get Football News France, David said: “Honestly, we have a team that could win something, with young players who are very ambitious like Paul (Pogba), who is young but has a lot of experience and is fundamental for us.
“There is also Martial who is unstoppable at the moment in one-on-ones. He is fundamental for our team. We will fight to go all the way to final but first we must eliminate PSG. Then, we will see.”
Cup competitions always have an air of unpredictability to them given how much is usually on the line and so anything can happen.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having the Red Devils flying, it’s not too crazy to back his side.
The Norwegian is yet to be beaten and has in fact defeated every opponent he’s faced so far besides Burnley who he drew to.
Wins against Tottenham and Arsenal are also proof that he can get results against the big teams and fans will be hoping he can do so against PSG as well.
