Pep has been amazing

David Silva has thanked Pep Guardiola for his attitude during one of the hardest times of his life.

The creative star noted how the Man City boss was fully behind him after the premature birth of his son, Mateo.

Silva spent time flying back and forth to Spain last season to be with his hospitalised son, and City gave him as much time as he needed.

Sky Sports report Silva said: “Firstly, he [Guardiola] has been amazing with me.

“With everything that happened to me, he gave me a lot of freedom, so I’ll always be grateful to him.

“Secondly, inside the pitch, he makes things easier for you. He sees everything before it actually happens and that, as a player, helps a lot.

“It was very special [having Mateo at the Huddersfield]; the best moment of my life.

“When it all happened, I was only thinking about everything going well and I wished I could have him one day with me at the stadium, and it finally happened.”

Man City fighting for the title

It’s a great time to be part of the club, with City fighting for trophies on four fronts again this season.

After winning the Premier League last time out, the club and Pep Guardiola are as keen as ever to maintain their success.

Teams have found it hard to retain the title after winning it, with Chelsea the latest to see their attempt fail and their manager sacked.

However, when it comes to City, that seems very unlikely to be the case, with the club already winning their first two games of the season by large scorelines.

Happy players at Man City

Another clear positive for the club is how well the side seem to get on.

Not only that, but they all play for each other and their manager, with Guardiola fostering a team spirit that’s key to winning trophies.

It may have irked other managers, with Jose Mourinho making digs about their Amazon Prime documentary, yet for the most part, the feedback has been positive.

City themselves don’t seem overly concerned, instead focusing on winning each game as it comes this season.
