Real Madrid He could play against Celta Vigo
Eden Hazard is determined to return to action in a Real Madrid shirt as soon as possible and it seems as though the Belgian will get his wish on Sunday night against Celta Vigo at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Prior to picking up an injury at home to Paris Saint-Germain on November 26, Hazard was beginning to show that he had acclimatised to life at Los Blancos and was making the difference in games.
The former Chelsea star has had to watch on as Real Madrid have gone from strength to strength, which has made him all the more eager to get back on the pitch.
In fact, Hazard wanted to play in the 4-1 win away at Osasuna last weekend but Zinedine Zidane, who is always prudent with players coming back from injury, had to slow him down.
Real Madrid‘s medical team believe that Hazard is at 60 percent of his optimal level in terms of his physical performance.
The 29-year-old has already completed several small-sided matches with his teammates and there have been no concerns with his health as he looks to be nearing full fitness.
The goal, therefore, is for Hazard to play 30 minutes against Celta, provided that the circumstances of the match favour a return to action for a player who has not played a competitive game in over two and a half months.
In total, 80 days have passed since Thomas Meunier injured Hazard‘s right ankle and now, with Real Madrid looking like a threat in both LaLiga Santander and the Champions League, the Belgian’s return will be a welcome boost.
On the horizon are two matches that could go some way to defining Los Blancos‘ campaign: the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at home to Manchester City on February 26 and, four days later on March 1, there’s the second Clasico of the season as Barcelona visit the Bernabeu in LaLiga Santander.
Zidane hopes to have Hazard at 100 percent for those two matches, but first the No.7 will have to prove himself against Celta on Sunday.
