In a touching tribute, Gent are full of praise for winger Moses Simon following his departure to Levante

The 22-year-old, On Monday, agreed on a five-year deal to join the LaLiga outfit.

And the Buffalos, while reliving the ‘champion’s’ time with them in Belgium, have wished him ‘good luck’ in his new adventure in Spain.

“[Simon] leaves the club with his head up and will forever belong to the select group of players who won the first league title in our history for our club and then became part of an historic Champions League campaign stamped in the collective Belgian football memory,” read a statement on their website.

“The following season, he was also a member of the group of players that won Tottenham at Wembley in the Europa League.

“During his time at the Buffalos, he was feared for his vicious dribbles, his incredible speed and his hard shot and loved because of his cheerful personality and his generous smile.

“He was often the author of important goals, like last season when he scored the only goal in the penultimate match of the playoffs in the 1-0 victory against Anderlecht,” it added.

“KAA Gent congratulates Moses on Levante [move] and thank him for the beautiful and successful years that he experienced here in Ghent.

“Once a Buffalo, always a Buffalo!”

Simon joined the club from Slovakian outfit AS Trencin in January 2015 and was part of the setup that won the club its first ever Belgian top-flight title that year.

The Nigeria international went on to feature in 136 games, scoring 21 goals with 18 assists across three and a half seasons.
