It is safe to say that plenty of Aston Villa fans will not be shedding a tear if and when Ross McCormack moves on.

The Scotland international, who has earned 13 caps for the national side, has had a difficult two years at the Midlands outfit.

The 31-year-old failed to find his shooting boots as he scored just three goals in 20 Championship outings.

McCormack was also plagued by injury problems and seemed to fall out with manager Steve Bruce.

The striker signed for the club from Fulham in 2016, but he has since been sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest and Melbourne City.

According to the Daily Mail, it seems that Sunderland are willing to take McCormack off Villa’s hands with the offer of a season-long loan.

The report claims that the Midlands outfit are keen to get rid of the striker, and judging by the social media reaction, the fans feel the same.

Plenty, though, would prefer the Scotsman to leave on a permanent basis.
