Premier League Admits to not knowing what lies ahead

Pep Guardiola thinks he may be given his marching orders from Manchester City, should he come up short against Real Madrid.

City meet Los Blancos in the last 16 of the Champions League, and the Premier League champions are struggling this season compared to last, while Real Madrid are top of LaLiga Santander.

“I want to win the Champions League,” Guardiola told Sky Sports while arguing that failing to win the competition doesn’t necessarily mean a failed season for City.

“I’m dreaming of it and I’m excited about preparing for the game against Madrid for the next two weeks.

“This process and these two weeks before [the game] will be the happiest two weeks of my profession.

“If we don’t beat them, then the chairman or sporting director will come and say, ‘it’s not good enough, we want the Champions League, I’m going to sack you.'”

When pushed and asked if that’s likely to happen, Guardiola wasn’t so sure either way.
