Achraf Hakimi’s agent says it would be “a privilege” for his client to join Napoli, but “he has a long contract with Real Madrid”.

The Partenopei have been linked with a move for the Moroccan, who could act as a backup to Elseid Hysaj, but his current club have confirmed Julen Lopetegui as their new Coach today.

“Right now the problem is the Coach,” Alejandro Camano explained to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“We need to understand what the future Coach’s intentions are. When we know that we can talk about players, about loans and sales.

“Hakimi has a long contract with Real Madrid, it’s not expiring. He signed for five years last year and he’s very much in Real’s plans.

“Napoli are a great team, it would be a privilege for Achraf to wear the blue shirt but I haven’t heard from [sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli.”
