Real Madrid Has thrived at Bayer Leverkusen
Kai Havertz has established himself as a key player for Bayer Leverkusen, despite being just 20 years old, and that has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Germany international is playing regularly for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and the Champions League for a few seasons, which has aided his development significantly.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are now interested in Havertz, who has also attracted attention from Bayern Munich, according to Sport Bild.
Bayern, as they did when they were the best team in Europe, are looking to build a team with the best German talent, although the presence of Real Madrid and Barcelona may now complicate matters in their pursuit of the playmaker.
Havertz starred for Germany this week in a friendly that ended up in a 2-2 draw against Argentina, scoring a goal and playing a great game.
Barcelona, according to reports in Germany, have been following Havertz for several matches and have been impressed by what they have seen.
For Real Madrid, meanwhile, they believe that the midfielder fits the profile as he is one of the best young players in the world.
All of this is worrying Bayern, who believe that Havertz is slowly slipping away from them.
Rudi Voller, Leverkusen‘s sporting director, admitted that Bayern will have competition if they want to sign the German prodigy.
“I can assure you that Bayern Munich was not the only club that asked about Havertz,” Voller said.
Leverkusen understand that they have a future world-class player on their hands and will not sell for less than 100 million euros. The race for Havertz has only just begun.
