Real Madrid Praised current Real Madrid captain

Fernando Hierro doesn’t believe the footballing world will truly appreciate Sergio Ramos until he retires.

The current Real Madrid captain is breaking all sorts of records for club and country and has won every trophy he could imagine.

“What Sergio means for football will be valued when he retires,” Hierro told Radio MARCA.

Of Ramos‘ sometimes dirty play, Hierro gave a reason as to why the defender picks up so many cards.

“He’s not an aggressive player, sometimes you have to take a yellow card to prevent a goal,” he said about Ramos.

Hierro also gave his thoughts on the possibility of Iker Casillas running for presidency of the Spanish Football Federation.

“It’s clear that he’s a magnificent ambassador for Spanish football, but the decision [to run for presidency] is solely down to him,” Hierro said of his former teammate.
