Liverpool win at Burnley
Liverpool remain two points behind Man City at the top of the Premier League.
Following their 96th minute win against Everton last weekend, Liverpool beat Burnley after falling behind early in the second half.
James Milner scored Liverpool’s leveller at Turf Moor.
It’s worth noting that Milner is still yet to lose a game for Liverpool after scoring. That tally is now up to 50 games.
Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool’s second, while Xherdan Shaqiri bagged a late third.
Naby Keita finally delivers for Liverpool
Liverpool coughed up £48 million to meet RB Leipzig’s release clause for Naby Keita.
However until the Burnley match this midweek, Keita hasn’t done too much to justify that price tag.
Yet, against the Clarets, Keita had his best performance so far for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Klopp praised the midfielder after the game, saying:
We used him well at the beginning and at the end, but in between I was shouting that we had to use Naby.
We played long balls, big switch, and Naby was constantly overlooked.
He was good. Even in the first half, when Naby had the ball something changed a bit.
Naby made all the difference.
It’s worth noting that the Burnley match was only the second time the Guinea international has played 90 minutes in the league this season.
Naby Keita’s highlights vs Burnley
Keita forced a brilliant save from Joe Hart in the Burnley net in the second half, as the keeper tipped a long range shot onto the outside of the post.
Keita also played a key role in Liverpool’s leveller.
The midfielder fed a pass into Divock Origi, who in turn teed up Milner to score.
A summary of Naby Keita’s stats against Burnley are below.
