According to Tuttomercatoweb, Newcastle United are interested in signing AC Milan forward Fabio Borini.

Borini, who turned out for Sunderland between 2015 and 2018, has scored just once in 11 appearances for Milan during the 2018-19 campaign.

And it is understood that the forward could be available in the January transfer window.

Newcastle are being linked with a swoop for the Italian, but it would be fair to say that the transfer rumour has not been well received by the English club’s fans.

Borini has represented Chelsea, Swansea City, Liverpool and Sunderland during his professional career, and could now return to England with Newcastle.

Borini actually scored seven Premier League goals during the 2013-14 campaign whilst on loan at Sunderland, but managed just seven in his next 50 appearances in the top flight.

Newcastle are currently light of options in the final third of the field, but the English club’s fans are not interested in taking Borini from Milan.
