With Real Madrid’s squad looking a bit worse for ware following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, and with the ageing of some of their most valuable squad members, it’s no surprise to see manager Julen Lopetegui wanting the club to bring in reinforcements this summer.
Although stars such as Alvaro Odriozola and Vinicius Jr have already made the switch to the Spanish capital this summer, it seems like Lopetegui still wants the club to sign more stars as the transfer deadline edges ever closer.

And is certainly seems this way if a recent Don Balon report is anything to go by, as the story states that the Real boss has requested that the club make a move to bring Chelsea and Spain star Marcos Alonso to the club this summer.
Despite not being at his best for the Blues last season, Alonso would still be a great signing for Real to make given just how good the defender can be on his day.
The Spaniard was one of number of players who were disappointing for the west London side last year, as they failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing 5th in the Premier League.
However, Alonso would still make a great addition to Real’s squad, as both his goalscoring ability and versatility are something that could come in handy for Lopetegui’s side.
Since joining the Blues from Fiorentina in the summer of 2016, the Spanish international has managed to clock up 14 goals and seven assists in 82 appearances, a great return for a defender.
Signing Alonso would undoubtedly be a great move from Real, now all that remains is to see whether the club listen to Lopetegui’s pleas and move for the left-back this summer.
