Italy’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Greece on Saturday will be officiated by Russian referee Sergei Karasev.

The game kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

So far, the Azzurri have won all six of their games in Group J and another victory with Greece would secure their passage to the tournament next summer.

Karasev has been assigned to this match, assisted by Igor Demeshko and Maksim Gavrilin, with Vitali Meshkov as the fourth official.

There is no VAR in these Euro 2020 qualifiers, nor the presence of goal-line referees.

Karasev has officiated Italy twice before with victories over Bulgaria in September 2015 and Israel in September 2016.

Between club and country at all levels, Karasev’s record with Italian teams is of nine wins, two draws and only one defeat, which saw Napoli beaten 3-2 at home by Besiktas in the 2016-17 Champions League.

Karasev was in charge of only one senior game for Greece, a 0-0 draw away to Hungary in March 2015.

Between club and country, he officiated one win, a draw and two defeats.
