Now three games unbeaten, Celta Vigo coach Antonio Mohamed is keen for the team to keep up their good form against a recovering Real Madrid.
Both sides had a rough run of results but have picked up in recent weeks ahead of Santiago Solari’s first away fixture in LaLiga Santander as Real Madrid coach.
“We have worked this week exactly the same as any other, it’s a game to show all of the good that we are doing,” Mohamed reiterated.
“A draw isn’t enough, we have to win.
“Real Madrid are a team with a big reputation that are recovering and will come to Vigo ready to win.
“Let’s hope they aren’t at their best, to make that happen we will try to play in their half as much as possible, on top of them to avoid them counterattacking.
“That kind of game [counterattacking] is the one which least suits us.”
Much has also been said about the weather conditions with strong winds and heavy rain expected, but Mohamed played down that influencing the game.
“Both teams have to adapt to the weather,” he responded adamantly.
“An intelligent group can’t complain or look for excuses because their obligation is to perform to their best in any circumstance.”
The game will take place on Sunday evening at Estadio Balaidos, with Mohamed also benefiting from the return of striker Maxi Gomez after injury.
