Manchester United star Luke Shaw has made a decision on his future at the club, opting to avoid extending his contract for the time being.
The club must be desperate to tie the Englishman down, even if they decide to sell him later on for some reason, due to his contract running out next summer.
Shaw has been in fine form so far this campaign but even before that happened, it’s unusual he’s been allowed to enter the final year of his deal in the first place.
United now risk losing him for free and the youngster definitely has all the negotiating power.
Whether it’s Ed Woodward or Jose Mourinho to blame it’s unclear but the club have to put in more effort to protect their assets.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Mirror report that Luke’s representatives have told the Red Devils they won’t extend his contract until he’s happy with his playing time.
Talk of David de Gea and Anthony Martial committing themselves to the club have been ongoing for months now and fans are yet to see the result of that.
Hopefully Woodward can wrap up the deal for Shaw quickly since it’s more urgent but De Gea and Martial need to tied down as well.
