Manchester United winger Anthony Martial wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the starting eleven, according to The Sun.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move out of the Theatre of Dreams this summer, with manager Jose Mourinho reportedly telling United to sell him.

Earlier in the summer, his agent had said that he wants to leave United, adding that the club did not want to make his client an important player.

Martial featured in United’s 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion over the weekend, but was substituted in the 60th minute after failing to make a significant positive impact.

Since his move to United in the summer of 2015, Martial has shown talent, but has not been able to deliver on a consistent level.

With Jose Mourinho wanting him out of United, it remains to be seen if Chief Executive Ed Woodward will yield to the demands of the Portuguese after failing to land the defensive targets of the former Real Madrid coach.
