Sheffield Wednesday’s dream of sneaking into the play-offs was destroyed on Saturday evening as Leeds United deservedly claimed a 1-0 victory at Elland Road.

The hosts were dominant throughout and Steve Bruce’s side struggled to retain possession for any significant length of time, with Barry Bannan’s influence diminishing as the game developed.

The key playmaker showed signs that he could provide a moment of magic for the visitors in the first-half, testing Kiko Casilla with a long range effort and looking to penetrate with incisive through balls from deep.
