Wimbledon 2019 Lost semi-final to Federer
Rafael Nadal is aware that he won’t be able to compete at quite as high a level forever after he fell to Roger Federer in the semi-finals at Wimbledon.
The pair have been rivals on the court for many years now and it was the Swiss who came out on top of an incredible battle on Friday.
“I know that these opportunities don’t last forever,” Nadal said.
“I didn’t take advantage last year, nor did I this year.”
But with Nadal and Federer being good friends away from the court, the Spaniard was quick to congratulate the 37-year-old.
“He played aggressive, a great match, congrats to him,” Nadal continued.
“He is always able to make the most difficult things look easy. He puts pressure on you all the time because he has the ability to take the ball earlier than anyone else.
“He doesn’t give you time to open up the court. It’s great to be part of this rivalry among three players.
“It will be difficult to see it again but we are not done.”
