Champions League Could miss first leg against Dortmund

Neymar could be set to miss more Champions League action with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian hurt his ribs during PSG‘s 5-0 win over Montpellier on February 1 and, although the injury didn’t seem serious, he’s missed the last three games against Nantes, Lyon and Dijon.

Neymar now faces a race against time to be fit for the first leg of PSG‘s Champions League last-16 tie with Borussia Dortmund next Tuesday.

“I can’t guarantee 100 percent that he’ll be able to play against Dortmund,” Thomas Tuchel said on Wednesday.

“We’ll see on Friday… but we won’t risk his health.”

Neymar has missed three of PSG‘s four Champions League knockout matches during his time at the club.

The French side have been knocked out of Europe at the last 16 stage in each of the last two seasons.

Neymar played the first leg of the 2017/18 tie against Real Madrid but not the second and missed both legs as PSG went out to Manchester United in 2018/19.
