Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with Pepe, who scored 22 Ligue 1 goals last season.

After a successful campaign, it’s understandable why the Ivorian is attracting so much attention.

Reports recently suggested that Liverpool have decided against signing Pepe.

And his agent Samir Khiat has hinted that a move to PSG could be next on the cards.

“Nicolas is open to everything,” Khiat said.

“The aim is for him to sign in the right place. PSG is a possibility.

“I cannot say on the 12th July that he will sign for PSG. Today, all parties need to reach an agreement.

“Lille, the buying club and us. There are exchanges and discussions. He is wanted by a considerable number of clubs.

“For him, the most important thing is to be wanted and to go to a good club, in which he will play and continue to progress.”

Pepe is currently with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations although they were eliminated on Thursday after a penalty shootout with Algeria.

“We had two offers before the Africa Cup of Nations,” Lille president Gerard Lopez said.

“We’ll see after that, my position was to see if we could not do something before it, we had two proposals before it, I had two clubs.”

Lopez had also admitted that talks had been had with Liverpool.

“I know there have been discussions with the player, not with us as a club,” he added.

“Liverpool have players in those positions and I read that maybe there were players who could leave, or not.

“I am not particularly focused on Liverpool. But it is true that there have been discussions with agents.”
