What do you make of the Golden Eaglets’ first half? Kindly share with me on Twitter @sportingshina

Nigeria have experienced a dream first half in Dar es Salaam, scoring once thanks to Olusegun’s penalty. The  Golden Eaglets have been brilliant, although they have been aided by terrible defending by Angola.

45′ HALFTIME: Nigeria U17 1 Angola U17 0

43′ Barri attempts to release Binga down the left flank. He keeps the ball in play on the stretch, despite the wing-back’s best efforts it travels out for a throw-in.

41′ What a miss! Tanko strikes the upright with the goalkeeper only to beat. Chances like these don’t come easily

39′  The game has taken on something of a pedestrian pace as Nigeria advance with the ball, but it’s all around the halfway line again and not in a threatening position.

37′ Ubani finds space inside the Angolans goal area but falls cowardly to Telson Tome’s meek challenge. Referee waves off penalty calls

35′ Nigeria put the press on Angola on the half-way line and try to force a mistake. Ubani’s rifle is saved by goalkeeper Carvalho

33′ Zito Luvumbo seems to be giving the Nigeria backline a sleepless afternoon as he midwives a corner kick for Angola as we journey towards the halftime break

31′ Oswaldo Capemba swings his kick but that was no threat for the Golden Eaglets’ backline .Nigeria in charge of possession now.

29′ Benedito Mukendi wins a corner-kick for Angola as they push forward for an equaliser. That will be taken after a brief water break

27′ BALL POSSESSION: Nigeria 56% – Angola 44%

Domingos Andrade

Yellow Card

Angola U17

26′ Yellow card Domingos Paulo Andrade

25′ Angola look to muster a response as they start to commit boys forward, but this was certainly not their gameplan.

23′ SAVE! Binga smacks a fantastic, dipping strike from the edge of the box that takes a little deflection on its way through, but goalkeeper Stephen does really well to make a fine save

O. Olusegun

Penalty Goal

Nigeria U17

21′ Nigeria take the lead through Olakunle Olusegun sent goalkeeper Geovani Carvalho the wrong way. The Golden Eaglets in cruise control!

19′ PENALTY FOR NIGERIA after Ngunza Cabingano handled the ball in the goal area. A chance for the Nigerians to take the lead

17′ MISS: Wisdom Ubani lumps it forward as he pins Angola back, takes his shot which fails to sail inside the net. Brave attempt from the 15-year-old

15′ There’s an awkward ball for Ayobami Amoo to deal with as Antonio Jose breathes down his neck, but the forward gets a little too eager to prevent the ball running out of play

13′ Angola have their own spell of penning Nigeria in, but they can’t find a way through either. They’re cancelling each other out at the moment.

11′ MISS! Wisdom Ubani’s freekick misses target by whiskers. Geovani Carvalho dives towards the direction but wouldn’t have saved the curling effort. That was the Golden Eaglets’ first meaning chance of the game

9′ Nigeria growing into the game here after a flurry of early chances for Angola, but they’re still struggling to break their opponents down and create any meaningful openings. Whoever wins this tie gets an early ticket to Brazil U17 World Cup

7′ Angola get out as they win a corner-kick, forcing Nigeria to retreat into their own shell. These two sides are both looking to sit deep off the ball and break quickly on it.

4′ Angola have a spell of possession, but it’s all in front of their opponents and there’s no penetration in their passing. Nigeria are more than happy to sit in and absorb pressure.

1′ And we’re underway! Angola kick us off for the start of the first half!

ANGOLA XI: Carvalho, Jose, Andrade, Tome, Capemba, Luvumbo, Barri,Binga, Mukendi, Cabingano, Morais

NIGERIA XI: Stephen, Tanko, Oduko, Tijani, Ikenna, Ishaya, Olusegun, Abayomi, Ubani, Amoo, Olaniyan

The line-ups have been announced, and we’ll start with Nigeria.
