El-Kanemi Warriors extended their winning streak at the Maiduguri stadium on Sunday as they pipped former champions, Plateau United by a lone goal.

Anthony Yeful’s 65th-minute goal proved decisive for El-Kanemi Warriors as they overcame a resolute Plateau United side who have now been drawn into the relegation waters.

The Borno Army are in second place behind Akwa United while the Peace Boys have slipped to 11th place on the log.

Chukwudi Samuel scored in the 70th minute to guide the Scorpions to a vital home win as they continue to push to stay afloat in the elite division.

Despite the latest victory,  Gombe United are still in the 10th position but just three points away from safety as Delta Force are eighth on the log with 20 points from 15 games.

FC IfeanyiUbah are on track to secure one of the playoff spots in Group B after they recorded a 2-0 win over Go Round on Sunday in Nnewi.

Uche Ihuarulam’s brace put Go Round FC to the sword, as FC Ifeanyiubah narrowed the gap between them and Akwa United as well as El-Kanemi Warriors to just one point.

Heartland 3-1 Nasarawa United

Heartland have halted the good run by Nasarawa United as they thumped the Lafia-based team 3-1 on Sunday in Okigwe.

Nnamdi Egbujor, Chukwudi Nwaodu and Joshua Akhanbue were the scorers for the Naze Millionaires defeated while Sunusi Ibrahim got the only goal for the visitors.
