Real Madrid have announced the signing of Eder Militao from Porto on a contract until 2025.

The Brazilian centre-back joins after Los Blancos meet the 50-million euro buyout clause in his contract with the Portuguese club.

Real Madrid C.F. and FC Porto have reached an agreement on the transfer of Eder Militao,” read the club statement “He will stay at the club for the next six seasons until 30 June 2025.”

MARCA reported that an agreement had been made between Real Madrid, Porto and the player while a payment to Militao‘s former club Sao Paulo was yet to be finalised.

Militao‘s 50-million euro buyout clause would have risen 25 percent to 75 million euros on 15 July, hence why Los Blancos wanted this deal done as soon as possible.

The 21-year-old has caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs with his performances for Porto in what is his first season in Europe.

Militao has spent a number of his 34 appearances this season alongside Pepe in the centre of the Porto defence.

The defender certainly has the footballing ability and personality to make this move and play for a club like Real Madrid.

Jesus Vallejo could be forced out of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu by this signing and will likely leave either on loan or on a permanent deal this summer.
