Barcelona vs Liverpool

The Champions League semifinals is sure to be fascinating with Liverpool taking on Barcelona and Spurs paired with Ajax.

Liverpool’s match with Barca will see the Reds face former stars Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.

On Saturday, following Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad, Coutinho spoke about facing Liverpool for the first time. He said:

It will be something special.

I am anxious because I know that moment is coming.

Should Coutinho be anxious about the reaction the Liverpool crowd will give him?

Man United goal celebration backlash

Last midweek, Coutinho scored Barcelona’s third goal in a 3-0 victory over Man United.

After he scored, the Brazilian plugged his ears with his fingers in an eye-catching goal celebration.

Many have assumed that Coutinho was reacting to the Barcelona crowd.

Since moving to the Camp Nou, Coutinho has often been criticised for failing to live up to expectations.

Yet, according to the former Liverpool playmaker, his celebration against Man United shouldn’t be considered a dig at Barca’s fans. He said:

I have always been someone who respects everybody.

The truth is that this (celebration) was for the people to see that I have to block out the sound in order to focus on a match or on my job so that it won’t affect me.

It was like a liberation.
