Sadio Mane & Liverpool
As reported in the Guardian on Tuesday, Liverpool are expected Senegalese forward Sadio Mane to agree a new deal with the club imminently.
Mane is an essential part of Liverpool’s potent three-pronged attack. While Mane operates down the left, Mo Salah plays down the right, while Roberto Firmino plays down the middle.
In recent months Salah and Firmino have agreed new five-year deals to remain at Anfield. Mane is expected to follow suit, as the Guardian report:
The 26-year-old has three years remaining on the contract he signed when joining Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 but Anfield officials want to reward the striker’s progress in line with Klopp’s stance on Firmino and Salah.
The manager believes the optimism around Anfield will play a part in convincing Mane to extend his contract.
Nabil Fekir update
The Guardian also claim that Liverpool will not sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon.
After several months of speculation, Liverpool’s interest in Fekir has receded.
Of course, Liverpool has added to their attack already this summer by signing Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City.
Shaqiri hit the ground running on his Reds debut with a stunning overhead-volley in a 4-1 win over Man United.
Liverpool’s summer transfers
Not only will Liverpool not sign Fekir, it seems certain that Jurgen Klopp has completed his summer business with over a week to go in the transfer window.
It’s been a hugely successful window for Liverpool.
Many Liverpool fans are arguing that the Reds now have the best spine in the club’s history.

Looking at the Reds squad, it seems that Jurgen Klopp will go for a 4-3-3 formation this season.
The Reds seem to have at least two options for almost every position in the team.
