Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has bid farewell to Cristiano Ronaldo after his former teammate sealed his move to join Juventus.
As confirmed by the Turin giants in an official statement, the Portuguese superstar joins them in a deal worth in excess of €100m as he brings an end to a trophy-laden stint over nine years with Los Blancos.

The pair were key in that run as part of the much talked about ‘BBC’ attacking trident along with Karim Benzema, but the Spanish giants will now have to fill a major void in the line-up in replacing Ronaldo.
However, Bale has paid tribute to the impact that the 33-year-old had on Madrid and him on a personal level since his move to the Spanish capital five years ago and wished him well for the future in his new challenge with Juventus.
From Bale’s perspective though, it will arguably open up space for him to take on a more prominent role at the Bernabeu, but that will undoubtedly depend on new coach Julen Lopetegui’s plans for the side after he replaced Zinedine Zidane at the helm this summer.
With attacking quality in the form of the likes of Isco and Marco Asensio, time will tell if reinforcements are brought in immediately or Lopetegui opts to work with what is already at his disposal for the time being.
Nevertheless, based on his message below, Bale will certainly miss Ronaldo’s presence at Real Madrid moving forward…
An incredible player and a top guy! It has been a pleasure to play alongside you for the last 5 years. Good luck for the future my friend ???? pic.twitter.com/KBYLMYaWjP
