Spain They play Sweden in Stockholm

Spain were unable to seal their qualification to Euro 2020 on Saturday night as they let a lead slip to draw 1-1 with Norway, but they are so close to mathematically confirming their place.

They can do so on Tuesday night, when the next round of fixtures in their group takes place.

On Tuesday, La Roja go to the Friends Arena to take on Sweden and these are the various qualification scenarios.

A victory over Sweden would confirm their place as they’d be onto 22 points.

That would leave Romania as the only team mathematically able to catch Spain, if they beat Norway, but the top two go through.

A draw with Sweden would also be enough to put them through.

Even if Romania beat Norway on that same night, it would leave the Romanians on 16 points and the Swedes on 15 points with two matches to go, one of which is a head-to-head match between Romania and Sweden that would ensure at least one of those nations would drop some points and be unable to catch Spain.

A loss to Sweden would take Spain‘s fate to the November fixtures, but still in their hands.

No matter the result between Romania and Norway on Tuesday, Spain would not be able to qualify unless they collect a point from their own match.
